A dental anesthesiologist is a dentist who has undertaken a post-doctoral residency in anesthesiology right after finishing four years at an accredited dental school. The post-doctoral residency comprises a minimum of 2 years of medical based anesthesiology experience which consists of providing anesthesia in operating rooms as well as performing anesthesiology in outpatient procedures.
